About Us

BeatMix Music began in 2012 with one simple goal: create custom music for all event experiences.

Founder Becca Kaufman and Business Partner Mike Weber set out to form a company in which they could connect with not just brides but all types of clients.

Backed by a professional team with over 40 years of event experience, BeatMix Music produces over 400 performances per year. BeatMix Music provides exceptional experiences, bringing passion, knowledge and joy to every note played.

Becca Kaufman

A native New Yorker, Becca moved to Chicago to attend Northwestern University’s renowned theatre program. Beginning her career as one of the most sought-after jingle writers/session vocalists in Chicago, Becca quickly expanded her talents to producing musical showcases and albums, providing commercial voice overs, and becoming a wedding expert featured on TV and radio—including her own radio show “I Do, I Do” on 105.9fm, WCKG. Becca has been leading her own society band, BKO, for the past 14 years and nearly 10 years ago launched BeatMix Music, hoping to match every client with an unparalleled music experience. Becca has appeared on stage with performers such as Lily Tomlin, Brooke Shields, Phoebe Snow, Tony Roberts, and Ellen Burstyn and a few years ago was a spotlight performer in the Broadway Chicago Concert in Millennium Park singing for over 19,000 people. She is also in the feature film Scrooge & Marley, appearing as a comedic cabaret singer. And, should you wonder where her hometown loyalties reside—she has sung the National Anthem for both the world-champion Chicago Bulls and her forever-losing New York Knicks. Becca feels privileged to have a life and career in music.

Mike Weber

Partner, Director of Sales + Logistics

Mike hails from the state of Cal-i-for-ni-yay and has been involved in the music industry since the age of 16. After working his first private event at the Standard Club in Chicago, he quickly realized how integrated music is in every moment of an event’s ultimate success. Mike has dedicated his career to understanding all particulars of an event, while maintaining an open ear to his clients, to meld a harmonious flow on every engagement. As Director of Sales + Logistics at BeatMix Music, he oversees the behind-the-scenes details of every event. He is a favorite with clients and BeatMix Music bandleaders because of his authenticity and compassion. Mike ensures that the client’s musical vision is accomplished and that all elements of each performance are meticulously planned and executed. Days off are rare for Mike, but when he is not helping to make memories for his clients, he is out fishing.

Sarah Miller

Director of Corporate Business Development

Sarah Miller grew up just outside of NYC, she studied classical ballet as a child and by attending many plays, musicals and symphonies with her mom she developed a deep love of the arts. Attending Miami University then working as an Event Planner for 15+ years her passion for building relationships and bringing integrated groups together to achieve a common goal was strengthened. Always striving to maintain a big picture philosophy while also keeping a critical eye on the details, her role as Director of Business Development for BeatMix Music is perfectly suited for her. She currently resides in Oak Park IL and has three amazing boys, a husband and a cat named Trooper.

Mike Pinto

Creative Music Director

A lifelong Chicagoan, Mike grew up in his parents’ music store, and is one of the city’s most sought-after musicians. Mike’s incredible ear, diverse musical tastes, and attention to detail help BeatMix deliver the exact sounds our clients want. His custom arrangements and the unique production elements of his recorded tracks help our bands perform faithful live covers of the newest hit songs. From first dance
special requests to entire shows, Mike turns the client’s musical vision into reality and is continually developing new offerings to add to our roster. In addition to his work in the BeatMix office and as BKO’s lead guitarist, Mike maintains a busy schedule as a freelance musician, composer, and arranger. Downbeat Magazine recently praised his “tasteful” performance and “bespoke guitar sound” in their
four-star review of the Mutzabaugh/Pinto/Deitemyer trio record Volume 1. When he’s not at work, Mike enjoys spending time in his home workshop, building everything from custom guitars to wooden toys for his kids.

Tammy Bendoff

Office Manager

Tammy is more than an office manager, she is the glue that keeps BeatMix Music together. A Chicagoland native, Tammy is the BeatMix Music gatekeeper. She is the kind voice clients first hear when calling the office and the initial one to respond to inquiries. She has an amazing ability to juggle multiple tasks at one time, yet still finds ways to keep everyone and everything organized and balanced. Tammy thrives on creativity and fits right in with our diverse crew. Her top 3 live performances so far have been Richard Marx, Jason Mraz, and Sarah McLachlan. When not on Facebook, you can find Tammy hanging out with her family and friends, giving back to multiple organizations that are close to her heart, and drinking a fair amount of Diet Coke.

Josh Baty Barr

Production Manager

As a life-long native of the Chicago suburbs, Josh’s career in the music industry began in a bedroom recording studio at the age of 16. His skills rapidly progressed to more advanced work in real recording studios, live sound reinforcement, and production; while gaining valuable experience from recording sessions, live events, and Elmhurst University’s Music Business and Sound Production degree programs. As Production Manager for BeatMix Music, Josh works both on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes to ensure exceptional execution of every event. His integration of crew, equipment logistics, and direct relationships with partner vendors and clients make him an essential part of the BeatMix team. Outside of work, you’ll usually find Josh listening to podcasts and relaxing at home to recharge before tackling the next week’s events.
